Where We Came From.

ChildFocus Ghana is a non-governmental organization that focuses not only on providing for the basic necessities of children but also on educating and helping them realize the value of health and education. Additionally, it teaches children how to lead moral lives that are admirable.

The idea of Childfocus Ghana emerged from Joyce Eku’s own experience as a children’s service teacher at church for many years. The defining moments related to her  recent experience. Residing in a very rural setting where her regular missionary activities brought her into contact with many brilliant and lovely children from homes with very challenging financial circumstances.

The immediate reaction has been to offer help where she can, with her own resources. These rather limited resources went to pay school fees for some, as well as providing basic needs. It has been so for some years now. However, there was a realization of the enormity of these needs that went beyond personal resources.

Childfocus Ghana in an attempt to broaden the scope of its support to the needy children and to offer opportunity to children, youth and care-givers had other like-minded people coming on board to help share in the vision of providing meaningful livelihoods to these category of people in need. The organization was registered in March, 2012 under the Registrar General’s Department with registration number G-39,526.
